Terraforming Mars is the first priority of the The Corporation for Interplanetary Development(TCID) . Their goal is to transform the planet Mars to be habitable for humans.
The TCID believes that Mars's development for habitation is crucial for its exclusive rights to the planet and eventual domination of the universe.
Mars is currently being terraformed by ex-Earthlings sent into space for having been charged with a crime, or otherwise deemed undesirable to the new Earth powers. But terraforming Mars takes more than just prison labor. The TCID has laid claim to the Asteroid Highway, attempting to monopolize the region's rich, precious ore by creating mega companies to mine the elements, ship them to Earth for millions, and use the asteroid waste to feed the energy-producing Dot to power its enormous fleet of ships.
